High Times Seattle Cup

Hee, hee, hee, snicker, snark, awhoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

We’ns lucked into a big treat for us, with being selected to serve as concentrate judges at the Seattle Cup this year, and got to test 31 examples of the finest concentrates that the state of Washington has to offer.

19 of the samples I would be willing to sign my name to, and some of them I would be proud to have associated with my name.  What a delight from 2007 when I started my concentrate journey.  There are now some top notch extractors out there, where before I seldom sampled good concentrate from others here in the Portland backwoods.

The experience and quality of the other judges was also first class, including of course Joe and Carla from Skunk Pharm Research, which made judging a delight.  We got the samples Sunday and had until Friday to test them individually.  The amazing part was that when the blind scores were all tallied, without discussion between the judges, the first and second place were a done deal and only the third place required additional testing to break a two way tie.  We were able to do that with one more round, despite the fact both the samples were delightful.

Sat through some good lectures and networked with some stellar new contacts, and laughed and scratched with students and acquaintances who we bumped into.  A good time all in all!

Nice work dad. Although I use the word “work” loosely….

That’s awesome, congrats! Maybe one day I’ll have the honor of judging a cub.
