Hee, hee, hee, don't you just love synergism? I posted a rotary evaporator design based on available sanitary spools at the time, but didn't build it because better options were becoming available, and Siskiyou Sam took the challenge and built one of his own design. He has consented to share, so here tis: More at /rotary-evaporator-from-siskiyou-sam/

..is it possible a concentrated HEMP extraction of CBD is as potent as the above states? Time for me to break out the distillation equip and go to work...
Hard to verify at this late date......It was written by the pharmacist of the time, using the material of the time, so I suspect it to be reasonably close. Have fun and tell us what you find! GW
You should be a part of a contest for one of the best blogs online. I most certainly will highly recommend this site!
Franklin Bache MD, listed on the cover sheet as the late professor of chemistry at a local college in Philadelphia, was also a great-grandson of Benjamin Franklin. Thought you'd like to know. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=42983790
This seems like a DIY vacuum batch processor that's attached to a cold trap. They use these in commercial confectionery kitchens minus the cold trap. http://www.macintyre.co.uk/c2.html
This build seems much cheaper... YAY.
"RotoVacs are relatively inexpensive to purchase for a lab grade unit" 2k is a cost I must just figure in as a cost of manufacturing. I can remove/recover 1000 ML's in aprox. 4hrs, but @ 85*f w/-600 Torr vac. Ease of use, cannot be compared. Temp controled H2O bath, rotation 0-200 rpm. If I'm proccesing material, constantly, I need easy, compliant equipment to run. Can you please include the APROX. Cost? Does it come with collection glass? By no means am I saying ANYTHING negative! Necessity is the mother of invention! Without trial and error, where would we be?
The reason for the large open top, is ease of removing the concentrate without washing it out with a solvent.
Thanxx for the 411, I'm interested in doing 420 oil extraction. Can your rotary gizmo be applied to that effectively ??
That is what SS designed it and uses it for. GW
Good post Kate!
Thank you for this! I have been looking for an old book to read about how they prepared the extracts.
